Southampton Town Young Democratic Activists Association (SYDA)
We are an initiative aimed to bring young and Hispanic voters to consider the following question: “How are we all part of the same mission?” SYDA encourages young Democrats to unlock a new lens of perception: how local politics influence federal politics, vice versa, and how we all are working together in the fight towards restoring democracy and good government.
The youth members of the committee are:
Concerned by the potential impacts of an inefficient federal government system on Southampton town and local government
Deeply disturbed by the recent spike in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (and partner agencies) operations on Long Island
Emphasizing that activism is integral to investing in local government, and is one of the most influential ways to fuel real change
Join to help create the Southampton Town Young Democrats Activist Association in preparation for 2026 elections (Tuesday, Nov 3). SYDA will work in accordance with the following parameters
Hold meetings on a regular basis to organize various activism initiatives including but not limited to
Elected official Q&A/information panels
Voter registration drives
Fundraising events
SYDA will operate on an open invitation policy to members registered in the Democratic Party
Limits ages between 16-21 with the exception of senior committee officials to regulate the activity of the organization
